Rear-End Collision Kills Back-Seat Passengers On Route 95

Two Bronx women were killed when their vehicle was rear-ended by a truck on Route 95, responders said.

The victims were in the back seat of a Subaru Impreza when a chain-reaction crash occurred in the local lanes of the northbound highway at milepost 120 near the DeGraw Avenue overpass in Teaneck around midnight Wednesday, New Jersey State Police Trooper Brandi Slota said.

A Ram C3500 pulling a utility trailer rear-ended the Subaru, Slota said.An Infiniti G35 then struck the Ram, and all three vehicles slammed into the concrete median, the trooper said.

Killed were Cesarina Medrano, 57 of the Bronx and Ingris Tejada, 54, of New York, NY, she said.

A front-seat passenger, identified as Jose M. Medrano, 39, of the Bronx, sustained was taken to Hackensack University Medical Center with serious injuries, Slota said.

Teaneck firefighters were summoned to extricate at least two of the victims, responders said. The Teaneck Volunteer Ambulance Corps and township police also responded. 

State Police are investigating.
